As with family courts, "immigration cases" have a lack of accountability, where they would otherwise be perceived as a matter of child trafficking. The for profit piece is in the for profit detention center and those who are paid to do their jobs, but the law wants to see profit come out of the child's "labor" instead of the system that takes possession of them. There are a lot of double standards and covers for exploiting children, the least protected in our current economic and legal structure, designed by wealthy patriarchs for wealthy patriarchs.

Yes — and that’s the core of it: classification is doing the laundering.

By labeling these cases “immigration,” the system strips away the protections that would immediately apply if this were called what it is: state-sanctioned child separation and confinement inside a for-profit pipeline. The moment custody is transferred to ICE contractors, accountability dissolves. No meaningful oversight. No child-welfare standards. No urgency.

Profit doesn’t just sit at the edges here — it’s structural. Facilities are paid per body, per bed, per day. The harm isn’t an accident; it’s incentivized. And because the children are legally reframed as “detainees” instead of kids, the system absolves itself while extracting value from their captivity.

You’re right about the double standards. If any other institution confined children this way — without charges, without care, without recourse — we wouldn’t debate the label. We’d call it abuse.

This survives because it’s hidden behind paperwork and jurisdictional fog.

And that fog is intentional.

Just so sad. Children don’t need to be treated like this. They need love and compassion not abuse or hate.🙏😢😢

Exactly. Children are not political tools, collateral damage, or “problems” to be managed. They are human beings who deserve safety, care, stability, and love.

When a society excuses cruelty toward children, something is profoundly broken. Compassion isn’t weakness — it’s the bare minimum. Protecting children should never be controversial. 💔
