Racist streamer OnyxDenji approached a homeless Black man with fried chicken, claimed he was helping him, and then spoke about making money off him. The man endured demands for thanks, mockery of his circumstances, threats of arrest, and racist abuse during an encounter he repeatedly tried to end. His treatment exposes the exploitation behind a filmed giveaway that made the streamer look generous while turning the recipient into someone to humiliate.
The demand for thanks is central to that contradiction. OnyxDenji repeatedly instructed the man to thank him, including telling him, “Say thank you, Daddy.” A thank-you on camera would have reinforced his claim that he was helping. Adding “Daddy” demanded deference from the man in an exchange supposedly about giving him food. The focus shifted from what the man wanted to how he should acknowledge the person holding the camera.
OnyxDenji also said, “I’m gonna get a lot of money off of you.” The man’s participation could provide both a public display of generosity and footage the streamer expected to make money from.
The man’s refusal disrupted the exchange. He returned the chicken and tried to disengage, while others told OnyxDenji to stop recording and leave. The streamer continued, invoking the man’s homelessness, ordering him to pick up chicken, and mocking him about not owning a car. He used the circumstances of someone supposedly receiving help to belittle him.
The threats of police involvement added another form of pressure. After saying that the man had punched him in the chin, OnyxDenji repeatedly asked whether he wanted to be arrested or go to jail. Those threats came before the later explicit racial slurs and final beating. He threatened the man with police and jail after disregarding demands to leave, turning attention toward the man’s conduct while continuing his own provocation.
The racist abuse further exposed how OnyxDenji treated the man beneath his claimed generosity. He directed the N-word at him during a stream in which he had already mocked his circumstances and demanded appreciation. The man then fought him, knocking him down and beating him as a bystander called for it to stop.
The food offer gave OnyxDenji an opening into the man’s day; it did not give him ownership of the man’s response. By returning the chicken and trying to leave, the man rejected the encounter. The continued mockery, arrest threats, and racist abuse show what he faced when he tried to end the encounter with the racist streamer claiming to help him.
